President Trump draws crowds of protesters and supporters on Long Island

President Donald Trump worked the military crowd on the tarmac minutes after arriving at Gabreski Airport in Westhampton, Long Island.

Just across the street, a split crowd of supporters and protesters eagerly waited for his motorcade.

"If these guys can come out and protest him, I can come out and show my support," said James Robisek of Setauket.

The president headed to the Hamptons for a 2020 campaign fundraiser and roundtable discussion hosted by Nathan's Hotdog CEO Howard Lorber.

Anti-Trump supporters with signs chanted for the president to resign.

"I worry how we're going to be as leaders when we see this man leading," said Ella Baldwin of Riverhead.

Another crowd of people waited near the event in Southampton, They are unhappy with his policies and his decision to descend on Long Island especially on a Friday because of traffic.

This is the president's second visit to New York this week. On Monday, he was at Fort Drum to sign the annual National Defense Authorization Act. He is scheduled to spend the weekend at his golf club in New Jersey.
