Polish Oscar-winning film director dies at 90

Polish film director, Andrzej Wajda, passed away Sunday, according to colleague and film director Jacek Bromski.

Wajda was an award winning director. His 1981 movie “Man of Iron” won the Palme d’Or at the 1981 Cannes Film Festival and Four of his films were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

In 2000, Wajda received received an honorary Oscar from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

His most recent film “Afterimage” was selected as Poland’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film for the 2017 Oscars.
