Police: Teen charged with knockout attack on Long Island

A teenager knocked out a man on the street on Long Island and then fled in a car with two other teens earlier this week, police said.

Police said that the attacker -- a 15-year-old boy -- punched the 60-year-old victim in the face, which knocked him into the street just inches from oncoming traffic. The attack happened just before 1 p.m. on May 4.

Several witnesses called 911 and stopped to help the victim, who was treated for multiple facial fractures at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, police said.

Suffolk County Police arrested three teens in connection with the attack. Authorities charged them with reckless endangerment and assault.

Police also charged the 15-year-old, who was since turned 16, with a similar random attack at a Taco Bell earlier that day.
