Police shoot man with knife in the Bronx
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - The NYPD shot a man who was described as acting erratically and holidng a knife.
It happened at about 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at 877 Intervale Ave. A family member called police and when officers entered the apartment they came across the unidentified man.
They ordered him multiple times to drop the large kitchen knife he was holding. They say he refused and an officer used pepper spray on him but it had no effect. An officer then fired his weapon, hitting the man in the abdomen area.
He was taken to Lincoln hospital. The injures did not appear to be life threatening, according to police officials.
