Police shoot man in Toms River
TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) — Police shot and wounded a man after they say he drew a gun on officers during a traffic stop in New Jersey.
Toms River police say officers approached a suspicious vehicle late Thursday night when a 29-year-old exited the vehicle and pulled a gun. Police say the man sustained at least one gunshot wound before he ran off.
The Toms River resident was found about an hour later and taken to a hospital. His condition and name have not been released.
No officers were injured.
The Ocean County prosecutor is investigating the incident.
