Police searching for pair of violent thieves in Queens

The NYPD is on the hunt for two men wanted for questioning in connection to six violent robberies that happened in Queens between July 4 and July 24.

The first robbery occurred July 4, just after 3 a.m. when the suspects approached a 44-year-old man, displayed a knife and forcibly took his backpack before running away on 39th Avenue. The victim was reportedly uninjured. 

The second robbery occurred July 7, at around 11 p.m. at 34th Avenue and 112th Street, when the suspects approached a 68-year-old man, striking him in the face and taking $100 from the victim’s pants pocket and fleeing west on 34th Avenue. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

The third robbery happened July 20 at around 4 a.m. on Corona Avenue between 102 and 103rd Street. The suspects approached a 22-year-old man from behind, punching the victim numerous times and taking $120, a cellphone and a wallet from the victim before running away. The victim was cut on his left hand and on the right side of his head and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for evaluation.

The fourth robbery happened on July 20, at around 4:45 a.m. on 39th Avenue. The suspects approached a 36-year-old man and asked him for $2. When the victim complied, the suspects restrained the victim from behind and took roughly $100, a black wallet and a cellphone before fleeing on 39th Avenue toward 104th Street. The victim was reportedly uninjured.

The fifth robbery happened on July 21 at around 3:40 a.m. at Roosevelt Avenue and Willets Point Boulevard. The suspects approached a 32-year-old man, knocking him to the ground and displaying a knife before punching the victim multiple times and taking the victim’s wallet which contained roughly $600. The suspects fled in an unknown direction, while the victim refused medical attention.

The final incident happened July 24 at around 1:15 a.m. on 104th Street. The suspects approached a 47-year-old man, punching and kicking him in the face and chest before taking the victim’s backpack, cellphone and wallet with roughly $100 inside. The suspects ran south towards 104th Street and 39th Avenue. The victim was cut on the face and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Police describe both of the subjects as men in their late teens to early twenties. One wears an afro and was last seen wearing ripped jeans, a light colored t-shirt and a backpack. The other was last seen wearing shorts, a t-shirt with the word “Polo” on it and a baseball hat.
