Police respond to report of cop struck by vehicle
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Police officers converged on the West Side of Manhattan Thursday after at least one police officers was reportedly struck by a fleeing vehicle.
The incident reportedly started at about 11 a.m. when two officers reportedly started writing a summons for a female driver who was double parked in a vehicle at 55th and 8th Avenue.
The woman reportedly became irate and drove off, hitting one of the officers in the shin.
Police stopped the car at 53rd St. between 9th and 10th Avenues. Officers arrested the woman.
The officer was taken to Cornell Medical Center with minor injuries.
