Police: Man stabbed woman, kidnapped daughter

An AMBER Alert for a toddler that was abducted in the Bronx was canceled after police caught the suspect in New Jersey and safely recovered the child.

New Jersey State Police said that Rebecca Valenzuela, 3, is safe and sound. Police said that troopers pulled over Diomedes Valenzuela, 51, on the Garden State parkway in Clifton and arrested him. The NYPD said that Valenzuela kidnapped his daughter Rebecca after stabbing her mother in the Bronx Tuesday afternoon. She is listed in critical condition.

Earlier, police said they were seen in a 2004 Silver Dodge Caravan crossing the George Washington Bridge, possibly heading for New Jersey, which is why New Jersey authorities were on alert.
