Police: Jersey City landlord doused tenant in lighter fluid
JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Police say a Jersey City landlord doused his tenant in lighter fluid and attempted to set him on fire because of a rent dispute.
Authorities charged 45-year-old Edward Leiseca, of West New York, with entering a structure without a license, aggravated arson and two counts of possession of a weapon. The two weapons possession counts were for both the lighter fluid and the lighter.
Prosecutors tell The Jersey Journal Leiseca had a rent dispute with his tenant before he forced his way into the man's apartment on Saturday and threw lighter fluid on him.
Leiseca was ordered to have no contact with the location or his tenants.
