Police inspect NJ Transit bus after suspicious package reported

A NJ Transit bus was inspected by Marlboro Township Police and the NJ State Police bomb unit after reports of a suspicious device onboard Thursday. 

The bus along Route 9 in Marlboro Township was isolated while police investigated.

At about 10 a.m., an officer was seen loading what appeared to be a suitcase into the back of a police cruiser. It is not clear what was inside the suitcase.

There were no reports of injuries.

The package was found to pose no threat, according to NJ State Police.

Route 9 was reopened in both directions between Texas Road and Route 520.
