Police arrest suspect in rape of 78-year-old woman

NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Police in New York City arrested a suspect in the rape of an elderly woman in Queens.

A 78-year-old woman was asleep inside a house on Brookville Boulevard at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday when a man broke in and raped her, the NYPD said.

Authorities on Monday charged Ryan Bayard, 30, of Queens, with rape and criminal sexual act, the police department said.
