Pastry tasting for a good cause
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NEWS) - Eighty of the world's top pastry chefs gathered at the Eventi Hotel Monday night for a mega dessert tasting uniting culinary stars and their confections with some very happy New Yorkers.
Hundreds of guests sampled an array of sweets crafted by the members of Relais Desserts, an international association of the world's top pastry chefs and chocolatiers including some of the most recognizable names in the business.
With piles of delicacies and giant chocolate sculptures representing regions throughout the world, bite after bite after bite after bite offered a whirlwind gastronomic tour. And to pay it forward, 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit City Harvest to fight hunger in New York City.
The Relais chefs gather every five years, but this is the first time they've brought their flair to the Big Apple.
As they toasted the success of their fellow pastry masters, they left New York just a little bit sweeter on this Monday night.
