A police officer in Suffolk County rescued a family of ducklings after they had fallen down a storm drain in Lindenhurst Friday.

The officer was called to South 15th St. and West Hoffman Ave. at about 7:15 a.m. where he found a mother duck standing at the top of the drain.

Babylon Highway officers removed the grate and Emergency service Section Officer James Brucculeri climbed into the drain and pulled the six ducklings to safety.

A photo from the scene shows the family of ducks wandering off.
