Off-duty NYPD cop walking dog brutally attacked

Police released a sketch of a man who brutally attacked an off-duty New York City police officer while he was walking his dog in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.

The 29-year-old officer was approached from behind at the intersection of Williams Court and East 11th Street on Thursday at about 9 a.m.

The attacker reportedly threatened to "f'- him up" in Russian before hitting him in the head and face with an unknown object.

The attack was unprovoked, said police. 

The officer was treated at Lutheran Hospital for a fractured cheek bone and lacerations to the head and face. 

The suspect is described by police a white, with a thin build with blonde hair, in his 20s, and approximately 5'6" tall and 170 lbs. He was wearing a tan sweater.
