NYPD: Man arrested on murder charge after fatal shooting
NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a New York City man has been arrested on murder charges and is suspected of fatally shooting another man in Brooklyn.
The New York Police Department says Friday that 20-year-old Bonitti Cook has been arrested on murder and weapons possession charges.
Authorities believe Cook fatally shot 36-year-old Herbie Gonzalez in front a public housing complex in Williamsburg.
It happened just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 24.
Police officers responding to a 911 call discovered Gonzalez, who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his head and body.
Gonzalez was rushed to a local hospital, but died of his injuries.
It was not immediately clear whether Cook had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
