NYPD, FDNY charity football game turns bloody

The annual charity football game between the New York City Police Department and the New York City Fire Department turned bloody when several fights broke out among players.

According to the NY Post, a cop viciously tackled a firefighter during the meaningless final minutes of the game at MCU Park in Coney Island on Sunday.

No penalty was called.

The NYPD was leading 29-13 when members of the FDNY team rushed the field following the tackle.

Both sides started yelling and shoving each other.

Video shows one firefighter in a torn jersey with blood dripping down his face. Another firefighter was also injured, according to the Post.
