NYC man shot in home invasion
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A New York City man was shot when he tried to fight off two men who tried to force their way into his home.
The NYPD says it happened Sunday afternoon on 197 Street in Queens. Police say at about 2:20 p.m. a man holding a package went to the front door of the home. A 12-year-old answered the door and as the 50-year-old homeowner came to the door the robber attempted to push inside the home. The victim then engaged the individual, and pushed him outside and back towards the street.
The robber then pulled a gun and shot the man in the thigh. Two other suspects were hiding behind a fence. All of them took off running.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition and was later released.
Police released video of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. They say all calls are strictly confidential.
