Nurse arrested for taking sexual photos of patient

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - An emergency room nurse at a Long Island hospital is under arrest after police say he took photos of the intimate parts of a 17-year-old female patient.

Nicholas Petrella, 35, of North Babylon was arrested on Thursday.  Suffolk County Police say that he took the photos at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center on May 20.

Police say that another employee saw Petrella take the pictures and reported it to a supervisor.  That supervisor reported the incident to police.

Petrella was arrested after an investigation.  He is charged with unlawful surveillance.

He was due to be arraigned on Friday.  It was unclear if he had a lawyer.
