NJ teacher sent nude photos to student, 17: Cops
NEW JERSEY (FOX 5 NY) - A 29-year-old teacher from New Jersey was arrested for sending nude photos and sexually explicit messages to a 17-year-old student, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
Michelina Aichele of Hillsborough Township and an English teacher at Montgomery High School, was arrested on Oct. 5 and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The Montgomery Township Police Department was contacted by Montgomery Township High School officials about the alleged sexually explicit communications between Aichele and a male student.
Police began investigating.
The victim was interviewed by prosecutors and said he had received nude photos from Aichele over a time period of several months. The victim also provided details of sexually explicit conversations that Aichele engaged in with him through social media sites and email, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson
In a letter by the schools superintendent posted to MyCentralJersey.com, Aichele will remain suspended.
"This teacher was suspended and removed from the high school on Oct. 4, 2018 while the investigation was ongoing. The teacher's suspension shall be continued pending a resolution of the criminal charges, and the district will continue to cooperate with the Somerset County Prosecutor and the Montgomery Township Police Department," Superintendent of Schools Nancy H. Gartenberg said in a Oct. 9 letter to the Montgomery Township School Community.
Aichele was being held at Somerset County Jail pending a hearing.
