Muslim man targeted in hate crime attack
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - The NYPD says a Muslim man was targeted by attackers who yelled "ISIS, ISIS" while beating him.
It happened in the Bronx at about 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Police responded to a report of an attack at Watson Avenue and Pugsley Avenue. They found the 43-year-old victim with bruises to his head and face.
EMS took him to Jacobi Hospital where he was treated and released.
The man had been walking with a 9-year-old relative when the men came up. They started yelling and punched him several times on the head before kicking him when he fell to the ground.
There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force.
