Muhammad Ali hospitalized

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has been hospitalized for a respiratory issue, a spokesperson tells TMZ.

"Ali, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease, is being treated by his team of doctors and is in fair condition," wrote family spokesman Bob Gunnellt.  "A brief hospital stay is expected. At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy."

74-year-old Ali was last seen out in public in April when he attended the Celebrity Fight Night charity event in Arizona.

Ali was hospitalized last year for a urinary tract infection.  In late 2014 he was hospitalized with a mild case of pneumonia.

Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson's syndrome in 1984, three years after he retired from boxing.
