Morgan Freeman's granddaughter killed

According to police, actor Morgan Freeman's goddaughter, also known as his step-granddaughter, was viciously stabbed and killed in New York City on Sunday morning.

33 year-old E'Dena Hines was found lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the street around 3 a.m. on W162nd Street in Manhattan.  She was rushed to a local hospital and pronounced dead.  A 30-year-old man at the scene was taken into custody..

Even though Hines was reported as being Freeman's goddaughter, she is known on the internet as his step-granddaughter.
