NEW YORK - Vashtie Kola is the definition of New York cool: directing, DJing and designing her way from bottom to the top of the competitive music and arts scene in the city. With over 280,000 Instagram followers, this self-made boss is a natural born leader. She introduced me to her vegan lifestyle at a restaurant called Caravan of Dreams in the East Village.

She directed Justin Bieber's first music video when no one knew who he was. She was the first woman to design a pair of Jordans and recently collaborated with Puma. The newest thing she does is DJ. She hosts a party every Thursday night at Webster Hall.
