Marine breaks planking planking record

A retired Marine who is now a fitness trainer has broken a world planking record.

George E. Hood is 57-years-old.

He broke the world record by staying in the abdominal plank position for five hours and fifteen minutes this past weekend in San Diego.

The previous record holder was a Chinese police officer who stayed in plank position for four hours and 26 minutes.

Hood didn't do it just for bragging rights. He did it to help raise awareness and money for the Semper Fi Fund, an organization that helps wounded U.S. service members.
