Man wanted for running over NJ officer with ATV, leading police on chase
EWING, N.J. - A search is on for an ATV driver who police say sent an officer to the hospital after an encounter at a gas station in Ewing this weekend.
What we know:
After receiving multiple calls about reckless ATV activity around Ewingon Sunday, an officer saw a man filling up his ATV at the Delta gas station on Princeton Avenue.
The officer got out of his vehicle and attempted to stop the man. That's when police say he drove over the officer with his ATV.
A short pursuit ensued with responding officers until it was deemed unsafe.
The officer that was struck by the ATV was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
What's next:
The ATV driver is now wanted for aggravated assault on a police officer. His identity is still unknown.
