Man threatens to set mother and child on fire on Bronx bus, slashes mom's hands: NYPD

NEW YORK - The NYPD is searching for a man accused of attacking a woman and her child on a bus in the Bronx.
What we know:
Authorities say that the attack occurred just before 10 a.m. on Monday, January 27 when the suspect approached a 31-year-old woman and her 12-year-old son onboard a Bx15 bus near East 180th Street and Third Avenue.
Police say the suspect allegedly threatened to set the pair on fire before throwing an unknown liquid on the woman. He then slashed both of her hands with a sharp object before fleeing the bus.
EMS responded to the scene and treated the woman for minor lacerations. The child was reportedly uninjured.
What they're saying:
Police describe the suspect as a man with a dark complexion, standing roughly 6 feet tall and weighing around 300 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket, a blue denim shirt, gray sweatpants and brown boots.

The NYPD has released images of the suspect and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
