Man threatens mom in car with toddler

Police have arrested a man for threatening a woman in her parked car with a toddler in the backseat.

The NYPD arrested Gabriel Rodriquez hours after they released the video taken Sept. 27 at about 5:25 p.m. in the area of West 17th Street and 7th Avenue in the Chelsea section of Manhattan.

It shows a man looking out from another vehicle and then approaching the parked car and opening the driver's side door. He brandishes a knife and the woman gets out of the vehicle.

Police say the woman told the suspect that her 16-month-old daughter was in the back seat.

The man then ran westbound along West 17th Street.  The woman and the daughter were not injured.

Police say that Rodriguez, 32, faces menacing, attempted robbery, endangering the welfare of a child and other charges.  It was unclear if he had a lawyer.
