Man stabbed multiple times on Upper East Side
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - The NYPD says a 22-year-old man has died after he was stabbed multiple times in the chest on a Manhattan street.
Police say the stabbing happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday at an Upper East Side intersection. He was taken to Metropolitan Hospital before police arrived. It is not clear who brought the victim to the hospital. He did at approximately 3 a.m.
Authorities didn't immediately identify the victim. It's unclear what led up to the stabbing.
No arrests have been made and the killing remains under investigation.
Since April 10, there have been 1,158 stabbings or slashings in NYC. That is up 24.1 percent over the same time period last year.
