Man found hanged, girlfriend found strangled

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Police say a New Haven man was found hanged in a city cemetery and his girlfriend was found strangled in her home.

Jerome Reddick was found dead shortly after noon Thursday in the city's Saint Bernard Cemetery. Authorities say the 38-year-old Reddick had hanged himself from a tree.

Police were called to an apartment on Daisy Street on Friday evening after relatives of Kwasiada Robinson found the woman's body inside. Investigators determined the 22-year-old Robinson had been strangled.

Police say Reddick and Robinson had been in a "turbulent relationship" and had lived together for several years.

At the time of his death, Reddick was wanted on a 2014 warrant for second-degree domestic assault involving Robinson.

Police say Reddick is a suspect in Robinson's death, but the investigation is ongoing.
