A man was killed in a horrific accident on a crowded Midtown Manhattan subway platform when his clothing got stuck on a train and he was dragged to death.

It happened about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday at the 42nd Street and Grand Central subway station.

The 39-year-old Queens man was dead by the time police arrived.  He had severe trauma to the body after being dragged from the platform onto the tracks where he hit an electric power box.

Police say it appears to be an accident and the man was not the victim of a crime.  His name was not immediately released.

The incident caused a service suspension between 34th St.-Hudson yards and Hunters Point Ave. while police investigated.
