Man charged in fatal stabbing of woman on NYC street corner
NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say they've charged a 50-year-old man with stabbing a woman to death at a New York City street corner.
The New York Police Department announced early Tuesday morning that Victory Garo, of the Bronx, was arrested late Monday night and charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say 44-year-old Adalgisa Degaro, of the Bronx, was found with multiple stab wounds on a street corner in the borough's Morrisania section at about 8 a.m. Monday. She was taken to Lincoln Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No additional information on the slaying has been released by police.
It couldn't be determined if Garo has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
