Man charged in bicycle shooting

PATERSON, N.J. (AP) — A bicyclist who allegedly shot and wounded a man on a northern New Jersey street has been charged with attempted murder. Paterson police say Davelle Silver, 35, also faces weapons charges stemming from Saturday night's shooting. A motive has not been disclosed, and it wasn't known Monday if he's retained an attorney.

The 44-year-old victim was shot in the lower leg. He was treated at a hospital, but further details on his injuries were not disclosed.

Authorities say Silver was dressed all in black when he approached the victim on 12th Avenue in Paterson. But it's not clear if he fired his weapon while riding the bike or if he stopped to shoot the man and then rode off.
