LONG HILL, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a school bus with students aboard struck a utility pole in northern New Jersey, causing live power lines to fall on the bus though no serious injuries were reported.
The accident in Long Hill occurred around 8:30 a.m. Monday. Investigators say the bus and a car apparently collided, causing the bus to veer off the road.
Authorities say eight students were aboard the bus. The children and the driver remained in the vehicle until power to the lines was turned off and they could be safely evacuated.
Emergency responders were evaluating the students on scene, but it wasn't clear if anyone was hurt in the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
