Learning center offers drug-free approach to ADHD

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A learning center in New Jersey is making strides with its drug-free approach to treating children with ADHD.
The "brain balance achievement center" in Allendale uses a combination of physical and academic exercises, which stimulates different parts of the brain.

Parents are also given nutritional guidelines and activities to do at home with their kids.

“She's playing on the basketball team now, she's involved in theater, things that she wasn't able to do because her behaviors prohibited her from doing them” her mother told us.

More than 10 percent of children are currently living with ADHD.
Medication is the most common way of treating it.
