MIAMI - A large Burmese python was hiding out in a Miami neighborhood Tuesday night. Police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's Venom Response Unit located, captured, and eventually released the nine-foot python after several residents reported seeing the reptile around the neighborhood.
The snake slithered into Judy Toriello's yard and hid under her deck where crews struggled to wrangle the snake. Toriello said she is happy it was caught mainly because she was worried about her cat.
Officials said they believe the python may have come from the Everglades and got to Miami through South Florida's extensive waterways.
