John Glenn remembered in memorial service
A public memorial service to honor the life of John Glenn was held in Ohio Saturday afternoon.
Glenn's casket was transported from the Ohio Statehouse to Ohio State University in Columbus, which was where the public memorial service was held.
The former astronaut became the first American to orbit the earth, and in 1998, he became the oldest person in space at age 77.
He was also a U.S. Senator who represented Ohio for 25 years, until his retirement in 1999.
Vice president Joe Biden, a friend of Glenn’s, delivered the eulogy.
John Glenn died on December 8th.
He was 95 years old.
