JetBlue flight attendants overcome by fumes

A JetBlue flight from Fort Lauderdale was forced to make a u-turn after three flight attendants became ill.

The flight was en route to Barbados.  The flight turned around after complaints of an odor or fumes onboard.

Three flight attendants began to complain of headaches and other symptoms.  Their symptoms were deemed serious enought to turn the flight around, forcing its 101 passengers to deboard around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Paramedics met the flight at Fort lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to treat the flight attendants.

"We evaluated the three flight attendants who were complaining of symptoms, made sure there were no other injuries and checked the aircraft with our Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue hazardous materials team," Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesperson Mike Jachles said.

The flight attendants were later deemed OK and sent home.

A new flight crew was assigned to the plane and it made its way to Barbados Thursday night.
