One of the most coveted purses loved by celebrities is the Birkin bag by Hermes.

Starting at $20K, the crocodile-skin purse was named after British singer and model Jane Birkin.

But years after it was introduced, the starlet is questioning the practice of killing crocodiles to make the bag.

She has reportedly told Hermes to drop the usage of her name with the bag. She issued a statement to the AFP:

"Having been alerted to the cruel practices reserved for crocodiles during their slaughter to make Hermès handbags carrying my name… I have asked Hermès to debaptise the Birkin Croco until better practices in line with international norms can be put in place,” said Birkin.

PETA says Birkin had a change of heart after watching an expose into the farming and slaughter of crocodiles and alligators.
