Important congressional race on Long Island

Democrat Tom Suozzi is vying to replace longtime Rep. Steve Israel in New York's Third Congressional District, which encompasses the North Shore of Long Island from eastern Queens to Commack.

The former Nassau County executive is running against Republican State Sen. Jack Martins, who is looking to make changes in DC.

Both candidates have similar views on climate change and background checks for gun purchases. They also emphasize family values and incorporated them into their ads.

Both candidates will cast their vote early Tuesday. They'll be with their respective parties in the evening when the votes come in.
