A winter storm is sweeping through the NYC-area on Sunday afternoon and is causing delays and cancelations at the New York City metro area's three major airports.

What we know:

As of 6 p.m., according to Flightaware, there have been 221 delays and 142 cancelations at JFK airport.

As of 6 p.m., there have been 136 delays and 260 cancelations at Newark Airport, Flightaware said.

As of 6 p.m., there have been 159 delays and 233 cancelations at LaGuardia Airport, Flightaware said.

As of 2 p.m., the FAA's website reported that JFK Airport had ground delays, causing departures to be slowed by an average of two hours and 37 minutes due to the snowfall.
