Horses get loose, hold up traffic on busy Florida highway

It was quite the scene on Thursday morning, after a handful of horses got loose and ran across a busy U.S. Hwy. 17/92 in Orange City, Florida.  It happened around 7:30 a.m., during the morning rush hour.

Alert motorists stopped and started controlling traffic, while others gathered the horses. It took several minutes to get the horses back to their home down the street.

The owners think it's possible someone cut the fence and let the horses out on Wisconsin Avenue. Orange City Police say they aren't sure what happened, and they think it's possible the horses found a weak spot in the fence and pushed their way out.
