Handcuffed prisoner recaptured hours after escaping in the Bronx
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - The NYPD has recaptured a prisoner who escaped custody at a Bronx hospital Friday morning.
Kevin Taylor, 27, who was handcuffed on one wrist, was able to slip away and escape from at St. Barnabas Hospital, where cops had taken him after he complained about not feeling well, police said.
In the immediate aftermath of his escape, police officers searched for Taylor in and around the hospital.
The department confirmed to Fox 5 Friday evening that Taylor was back in custody but did not elaborate.
Police had arrested Taylor earlier this week for criminal possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of marijuana charges, authorities said.
