Gorilla unexpectedly gives birth at Prague zoo

A gorilla at a zoo in Europe gave zookeepers quite the surprise when she unexpectedly gave birth recently.

Zookeepers at the Prague zoo in the Czech Republic though that 24-year-old Shinda, silverback gorilla surprised, was infertile after having several miscarriages over the years, according to InsideEdition.com.

"Not only did we not know about Shinda's pregnancy, but mainly, we gave up hope that she could have a baby," zoo manager Misoslav Bobek wrote in a blog post.
Shinda had always been overweight since she came to the zoo, so zoologists didn't realize she was pregnant.

Shinda and her baby are already on display to visitors. The baby's gender is not yet known.

"It seems that a miracle happens from time to time," Bobek said.
