'Good Wife' actor tries to rescue neighbor from NYC fire

Actor Dylan Baker, known for his roles on the TV show "The Good Wife" and as Dr. Curt Connors in the Spider-Man movies, found himself in a real-life drama in New York City Tuesday. Baker attempted to rescue his neighbor after a fire broke out on the 33rd floor of the actor's high rise apartment building on west 43rd street in hell's kitchen.

Baker said he banged on the neighbor's door and then opened it and yelled for her. But smoke was everywhere, so he had to close the door and evacuate. Firefighters arrived a few minutes later and rescued the woman from the apartment.

Medics rushed her to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. She was listed in serious condition Tuesday night, officials said.

The FDNY said that almost 80 firefighters responded to the fire. They got the fire under control at about 5 p.m. The department is investigating the cause.
