A New York City woman found dead after going for a run near her mother's Massachusetts home is being laid to rest.
A wake for 27-year-old Vanessa Marcotte is scheduled for Monday at the Brandon Funeral Home in Fitchburg.
A funeral Mass is scheduled Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic church in Leominster, followed by burial at Woodside Cemetery in Westminster.
The Google account manager was found dead Aug. 7 in the woods near her mother's Princeton home. Investigators have received hundreds of tips but have not announced an arrest.
She is survived by her parents, John Marcotte and Rossana Marcotte.
According to her obituary , Marcotte was "kind, compassionate, bright, curious, charming, and vivacious" and "was blessed with beauty, grace, a generous spirit, and a loving heart."
The family is asking that a donation be made in Marcotte's name to http://www.harlemgrown.org/. Its mission is to inspire youth to live healthy and ambitious lives through mentorship and hands-on education in urban farming, sustainability, and nutrition.
