The reward to find a former DeKalb County detention officer convicted of raping a child stands at $2,000 as of Tuesday.

Charles Pickney disappeared in November during the sentencing phase of his trial. Pickney was convicted of violently raping a 15-year-old girl, but failed to show up to court for the final hearing.

Despite his absence, he was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

The victim's mother said she's praying for the day he is caught.

Authorities think the former detention officers could still be in Atlanta, but he also has ties to Brunswick and Miami.

Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
