First NYC baby of 2019 born in Harlem

Welcome to the world, baby Genesis.

New York City's public health system announced Tuesday the first birth in the city for 2019 took place at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in Manhattan.

Genesis Elisa Noriega entered the world at 12:56 a.m. to parents Gabino Noriega and Maria Contreras.

Baby Geneis weighed in at 7 lbs. and 8 ounces. She measured nearly 20 inches.

She is the couple's third child.

Staten Island University Hospital is contending the birth as being the first of 2019 with it's own baby born at 12:00:30 a.m. An official statement was pending.
