Firefighter dies responding to Christmas call

A volunteer firefighter in New Jersey died on the way to a fire call on Christmas Day.

Firefighter Natalie N. Dempsey, 21, was the Vice President of the Mizpah Volunteer Fire Company 18-2, in Atlantic County.

The Mays Landing woman died in a crash at 6:19 a.m. on Tuesday.  Hamilton Township Police say that her 2001 Honda Accord lost control and went into a guardrail off of Landis Avenue.  There was no one else in the car at the time of the accident.

The fire company announced on their Facebook page Dempsey will be buried with full honors because she died in the line of duty.  Funeral arrangements were to be announced later.

The Mizpah Fire Company asked the public to keep her family in their prayers.
