Fight at Long Island mall causes mass panic
A fight at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island sent dozens of panicked shoppers running for cover.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
A Nassau County police spokesman tells The Associated Press officers responded to a report of a fight at the shopping mall. There were no reported injuries.
Videos posted on social media sites showed shoppers running through the shopping mall and hiding behind a wall near the food court.
A spokesman for Simon Property Group, which runs the mall, didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
Saturday's incident comes days after a security guard at a Torneau store in the mall was shot during an attempted robbery. A suspect in that incident was arrested Tuesday.
