FBI: Long Island bodies are missing teens
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities believe the remains of three young Hispanic men found in recent weeks in suburban New York are likely the latest victims of MS-13 gang violence.
The FBI on Tuesday released the names of Javier Castillo, 16, and Kerin Pineda, 19, who were missing more than a year.
Their remains were discovered a few days after authorities found the corpse of another missing teen, Angel Soler, 16.
All were found in wooded areas
A law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity said all three are suspected victims of MS-13 gang violence. The official was not authorized to speak publicly because of an ongoing investigation.
Their discovery makes 25 suspected MS-13 victims on Long Island in the past two years.
Castillo and Pineda disappeared in 2016. Soler vanished in July.
